Joel Turner

Joel Turner joined the Office of General Counsel in March 2025 as Assistant General Counsel.  Prior to joining NC State, Mr. Turner was a partner in the Raleigh office of Hedrick Gardner Kincheloe & Garofalo, LLP from 2003-2025, where he handled insurance defense and litigation matters before the North Carolina Industrial Commission.  Mr. Turner received his B.A. in Psychology with distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1999 and his J.D. from the UNC School of Law in 2003.  Mr. Turner’s practice at the university focuses primarily on student affairs, employment law, and litigation.
