Ms. Lanzen joined the Office of General Counsel in 2017 and provides counsel to the university on a wide range of legal issues, primarily focusing on student affairs, risk management and litigation. Prior to joining NC State, Ms. Lanzen was a partner in the business litigation group at Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, where she litigated complex business matters involving contract and licensing disputes, claims of misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair and deceptive trade practices, fraud, and other business torts between competitors. Ms. Lanzen graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Political Science and International Studies and received her J.D. from the UNC School of Law in 1998.
